Wine & Cheese Pairing: Loveblock, Sauvignon Blanc with Gruyere & Swiss Cheese

Wine: Loveblock, Sauvignon Blanc Year: 2016 Region: Marlborough, New Zealand Price: $22.00 a bottle This wine has fruity aromas of grapefruit and lemon. It has a very crisp, refreshing mouthfeel and has a pale yellow, straw color. It is noted that this wine has white peach and various tropical fruit flavors. I definitely noticed an herbal finish to the wine perfectly mixed in with the citric acidity of the wine. It is noted that there are mineral components to the wine as well, which I did not notice. This sauvignon blanc was extremely refreshing with strong notes of acidic, tropical fruits and fresh cut grass that are typical of this region and sauvignon blancs in general. The wine was a little more on the dry side with a medium body so I thought that pairing it with gruyere cheese. This type of cheese is native to Gruyere, Switzerland.
