Critics' Review:
"A rich, dark garnet color in the glass with vibrant purple shimmer, this Merlot displays aromas of ripe plum, rich cocoa, blueberry, and violet with hints of juicy black cherry. A luscious mouthfeel full of dark fruit, hints of sweet spice, and restrained astringency lead into a delicious, lingering finish filled with toasty oak undertones.Pairs well with seared duck breast, beef short ribs, grilled pork chops."

My Review:
"Hahn" is one of my favorite brands of wine. The first red wine that became a staple to me was Hahn Pinot Noir, specifically. It was a wine that became a quick go-to when I was still avoiding expanding my wine palate. However, in doing so over the years, I have not gone back to enjoy the other varieties. This Merlot was definitely different from the Pinot Noir I was used to, however, Hahn is known for generally have flavors of oak, spice, dark berries, and feels like a "mouthful" of tannins in every sip. This wine had an especially strong flavor of mocha, oak and dark cherry. I enjoyed this wine better with a couple ice cubes due to its heaviness and thick texture because it allowed the wine settle thinner. I would definitely say this wine is enjoyable for the price, but I think that there are far better wines that are less expensive.
